Endurljóð is an international chamber music festival located in the beautiful Faroe Islands.
The festival offers high quality concerts, masterclasses and other relevant cultural events.
After a successful first festival in 2023, we are proud to announce that Endurljóð will return May 4 th -12 th where we will celebrate masterworks by Bruckner, Højgaard, Saariaho and Schubert among others.
A full programme is expected to be published by late February.
Jóhannes Andreasen
Artistic Director
Jóhannes grew up in a musical environment in Tórshavn and learned to play the piano as a young boy from Rigmor Restorff in Tórshavn. After completing his university studies and training in Vienna and London, he has worked as a teacher in piano and musical instruction, mostly in the Faroe Islands for several years. At the same time, he has regularly performed concerts both here and abroad - among other things, several times alongside members of the Vienna Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra. Jóhannes was also one of those who established Aldubáran in 1995. Jóhannes has otherwise had diverse musical activities, such as being a host on the radio program 'Bolero' from 2007 to 2013 and serving as a choir conductor for Tarira from 2015 to 2019.
Helle Thede Johansen

Helle is a qualified operator, bank employee, and writer. For many years, she has worked within arts and culture as a writer, board member, and chairperson in, for example, the Writers' Association of the Faroe Islands, the Artists' Association of the Faroe Islands, and the Rættindahavarafelagsskapinum Fjølrit. She has also been a representative for Nordisk Kulturfond and has been the chairperson of the evaluation committee for Mobility Funding at the Nordic Culture Point. In these roles, she has, among other things, organized book days, conferences, and the Nordic Council's General Assembly in the Faroe Islands for Nordic copyright societies. At present, she is a coordinator for the Norðurlandahúsið in the project 'Spælilist – inspired by the Danish project LegeKunst by Kulturprinsen Personally, Helle enjoys a wide range of music and appreciates having an overview and organizing events. It is with joy and pride that she is now ready to lay the foundation under ENDURLJÓÐ. An annual recurring chamber music festival that will encompass both musical and artistic aspects as a whole.
